Executive Function Support

We help students develop the executive function skills behind academic success.

Many students, particularly those with additional support needs (ASN), have the desire and intelligence to do well in school but lack the executive function skills required to stay on task. Our academic coaches understand how to help students develop the cognitive processes behind organisation, time management, and goal-setting.

In regular one-on-one sessions, coaches work together with students on practical strategies for executive function success. As their skills develop, students start to rely less on their teachers, parents, and tutors for guidance, with the ultimate goal of total self-sufficiency.

Developing Metacognition

One of the most important aspects of executive function coaching is helping each student discover the way in which they learn best. By teaching students how to reflect on their own behavior and the way in which they think, coaches help them form positive habits around learning.

Executive function coaching teaches students essential skills around self-awareness, self-management, emotional regulation, and focus.

What is Executive Functioning?

Executive functioning refers to the set of mental skills that help with managing time, staying organised, focusing attention, and completing tasks. These skills are essential for academic success and everyday life, enabling students to plan, prioritise, and follow through on their goals.
